I am reading so many of these reviews. I have to share that we had an amazing experience this morning. The staff are so friendly and kind, the food was delicious. There is nothing negative to say. From the banana, Nutella waffle, corn beef hash, the best sausage and bacon. We all tried each other’s dishes and it was perfect. Quiet, comfortable and never felt rushed. I will definitely be back. Sorry I only got a picture of my grandsons waffle.

Traditional family run diner serving breakfast and lunch. Large menu with lots of options but basically traditional food. Nothing fancy. Fairly crowded but there were a few tables when I arrived @ 10 am on a Saturday. There is also counter seating. Ham and cheese omelet had lots of ham and lots of cheese! Service was reasonable quick and friendly. Prices are about the same as other cafes in the area. Overall a good solid choice for a traditional breakfast.
Probably one of my favorite breakfast places in Rhode Island. The portions are large and the food taste great. The prices are on the higher end but they use quality ingredients. They also have thick cut bacon like you would get from a butcher. I ordered their apple cranberry pancakes today with a side of bacon. When I saw the pancakes all I said was wow. Three soft pancakes topped with cinnamon apples and dried cranberries. I definitely ate way too much but it was so good. L I was there at a relatively slow time but it started picking up by the time I was leaving. Service was great and did an excellent job keeping my drink glass filled.
Yet another great Warwick breakfast/lunch spot. Must be the best place for bacon in RI! Delicious, fresh food. Reasonable prices. Always good service. No fancy coffees... Off-street parking.
Very friendly and attentive staff. I believe it's family owned. They bake the breads from scratch! The food is fresh and comes to the table hot. Great portion sizes as well. They have kid friendly dishes as well as weekend specials. I've been fortunate enough to beat the morning rush every time I've come here. But I do think it probably gets very busy on weekend mornings. Parking is limited but they're quick with the food so I can see people constantly coming and going, allowing parking spots to open up.
I can’t believe I haven’t been here before! This was a wonderful breakfast find! Loved the food, service and cute atmosphere! Jessica was our server and she was wonderful- we will make this our new “breakfast spot” for sure! The amount of food was incredible, delicious and hot!
In the Warwick area, this place easily earns a 10 for breakfast menu variation and taste. I had the most amazing breakfast meat empanada with a side of spicy chili oil sauce that added an Asian-inspired kick. It was a unique and incredibly tasty breakfast item, deserving of a solid 10/10. While I typically shy away from very spicy food, the dip was so good that I enjoyed every morsel with dipping. Even without the dip, it was still outstanding. Another item we ordered was the Braised Short Rib Benny, and just as I suspected, it was delicious. Being a fan of short ribs, I was not disappointed. The home fries were perfectly crisp and not dry, just to my liking. I tried some from my husband's plate, and he had to stop me from eating the whole serving (lol). As a bonus, the place also showcases delectable cakes made from scratch by Johnny himself, the owner/chef. His mother, who occasionally helps with service, proudly shares this fact. However, the service can be quite slow, and there is a surcharge for credit card payments. If you don't mind the wait for a server, refills, or the check, and are willing to pay with cash to avoid the 20+% credit card fee (although this information could be communicated more clearly), then you can fully enjoy the amazing breakfast offerings at Johnny's Chalet. One thing to note is that there is no notice or sign about the credit card surcharge anywhere--neither on the menu, walls, nor as a table card. This lack of transparency can be a downside for those who value an overall good dining experience, where food is complemented by efficient service. I recommend this place for breakfast and brunch enthusiasts looking to break away from the usual options. I'm yet to try their lunch menu, but it's on my list. Hopefully, by the time I return, they have addressed the visibility of their surcharge policy on the premises and the service staff shortage.
Found a new breakfast spot in Warwick, a nice old style restaurant/deli. The food was cooked to perfection, and both were there plenty of it. They say everything is bigger in Texas, but I would gather they never ate breakfast here. The staff was very attentive to our needs, and everything was great. I would definitely recommend this establishment.
